Manchester united beat harry kaneless Tottenham 1-0

Image
Coach Pep Guardiola of Manchester City may have been vindicated for describing Tottenham Hotspurs FC as a Harry Kane team as Manchester United wins Spurs 1-0 at Old Trafford without the visito’s top striker. Kane. A late goal from Anthony Martial who came off the bench was all Manchester United needed to defeat a 1-0 win over Premier League title rivals Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Saturday. Victory saw United, who had started the day ahead of Spurs on goal difference alone, go three points clear of their London rivals. France international Martial, currently battling to win a regular starting place under Jose Mourinho, did his chances no harm with the manner of his 81st minute winning goal, even if it was a curiously direct affair. A long kick forward by goalkeeper David De Gea was headed on by Romelu Lukaku and Martial sprinted away from the Spurs back line before calmly beating the keeper with an excellent finish. It was a disappointing way for Spurs to lose a game...

Social media has now become the go-to platform for the swift distribution of news and information to a potential audience of billions. Interestingly, the audience ranges from the gateman to the most sophisticated executives; the simple truth is that every one checks social media sites (you will be shocked at the number of bank MDs with secret Instagram handles). Most see it as swift and easy consumption of information, with little or no real effort necessary; the information is available on most hand held devices, so can be checked virtually anywhere. In Nigeria, over the last 10 years, we have seen everything from anonymous sites/handles to professional commentators who are known across several blog platforms. Unfortunately, with the growth of social media, we have also seen the growth of unprecedented...

In international diplomacy, it is not a sin for a country to engage at all possible levels. Nigeria is the most strategic country in Africa with its population and economy. We have a responsibility to be everywhere in the world, and make our presence felt.” “Which presence? There are at least 48 Turkish companies doing business in Nigeria: schools and hospitals and et cetera. How many Nigerian businesses can you point to in Turkey?” “We have our footballer...

Daily Times brings discourse on Role of Ndigbo in United Nigeria

As issues of marginalisation and secession continue to threaten Nigeria’s unity, the “Role of Ndigbo in a United Nigeria’’ will be the focus of a discourse to be convened by the Daily Times of Nigeria (DTN) soon. The publisher of Daily Times, Mr Fidelis Anosike, said on Wednesday in Lagos that the issues threaten the integrity of the country, especially as it concerned the perceived marginalisation of the South-East geopolitical zone. The discourse, according to a statement by the Group General Manager of DTN, Mr Olisa Egbunike, the company was falling back on its historical pedigree to partner with Katunga Media to organise the parley.
