Army chief promises to pay soldiers fighting Boko Haram

The announcement is a reaction to a recent letter an unnamed soldier wrote to President Buhari.
Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Tukur Buratai, has promised to pay two months' allowances owed soldiers of the Nigerian Army involved in Operation Lafiya Dole.
In a statement signed by army spokesperson, Sani Usman , the army chief said the Ministry of Defence will facilitate the payment this week to soldiers on the front line of the war against terrorist group, Boko Haram , in the north.
